SuZ Garcia is a senior member of the technical staff at the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) of Carnegie Mellon, currently working in Integrating SW Intensive Systems initiative after over 10 years of involvement writing and deploying Capability Maturity Models, as well as other improvement approaches.
Her recent book, CMMI® Survival Guide: Just Enough Process Improvement, captures much of her insight on the ins and outs of process improvement, as well as insights from her co-author, Richard Turner, on applying ‘agile’ approaches to process improvement, Although she has recently moved to studying the issues of larger scale systems of systems, SuZ has been surprised and intrigued by the crossover in issues and solutions from her recent work improving processes in small settings. She continues to work in improvement in small settings through the IPSS project at the SEI.
