Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) is one of the main hot spots, regarding software Nearshore development or IT outsourcing. A highly educated staff and being culturally and geographically closer than India or China is being the motivation for many European companies, to increase their software development capacity in this region.

Already some major effort is being undertaken to deploy software process improvement principles. However in order to sustain their competitiveness against India, China or other popular offshore regions, CEE companies shall be continuously moving up on the maturity scale. Global companies, wishing to outsource their development or for software buying decision are increasingly using maturity model alike CMMI® or SPICE to assess risks related to their suppliers.

The CEE-SPI conference serves as a forum for CEE Companies to report and share their experiences in improving their software process capabilities.
