The progressive industrialization of IT production requires standardized processes especially in service management. CMMI and ITIL are the most widely-used process frameworks in this field. CMMI for Services, officially released by the SEI in February 2009, seems to be a rival product to ITIL. Looking at it from the viewpoint of CMMI for Services both models will be compared regarding their distribution, functional scope, and benchmark methods. After this a procedure to integrate both models will be presented. The author will also give an account of her own experiences with implementing ITIL, CMMI and an integration of both models.
